Back To The Future. Sold Out Arenas.

I remember getting an instant message over a year ago asking me if I had ever heard of Girl Talk. I hadn’t at the time, but my how things have changed. That same night I visited Girl Talk’s MySpace and I kind of liked some of the songs, so I downloaded Night Ripper with minimal interest. I was certainly impressed, but I never took a strong liking to the album. Then Feed The Animals dropped this past summer and after paying a cool $0.00 for the record I was pleased to hear a more structured, well-rounded offering from Girl Talk. There was talk of seeing Girl Talk live later in the year, but the prospect was given no serious attention during the summer.

Flash forward to now. As dope as they are, “Play Your Part” and “Shut The Club Down”, amongst others, have been terribly overplayed by pseudo-progressive music listeners and Gregg Gillis has just played to a sold out crowd at my university and my decision to refrain from attendance is met with major relief and minor resentment. The show sounds like it was fun, but I think. I’m just. Over it.

Some people feel the same way, but don’t express their sentiments as kindly.

GG is just a mnstrm fggt biomed engineer who got lucky in the archaic rmx scene of like at least 2 blog decades ago and went meme. mnstrm meme. He has no authenticity, no sense of ‘what its all about’, and his personal brand is detestable (not to mention unstable)

Eh. I just don’t like the fact that he’s a PC.

Okay. His personal brand is a bit unstable.
